Eastern influence
Western and contemporary expressions of Japanese and Korean poetry forms. Including haiku, senryū, tanke, haiga, sijo etc.
Most of my poems in these styles, focus on the sound count and sound length, as opposed to syllable counting. I’m always aim for a rhythm and flow, and emotional quality, that’s in keeping with my own understanding of the original Eastern roots.
